It is a melodious track that relies quite simply on the dafli. Kuchh saal pehle by Hariharan, which treads a nostalgic path, tends to put you in a contemplative mood. A reasonably likeable song, though it is suspiciously similar to the strains of Kehta hai mera yeh dil (Jeans). Kavita Subramaniam, Alka Yagnik and Hema Sardesai indulge in some good, old fashioned girl talk Eli re eli. To their credit, Asha Bhosle, Udit Narayan, Sukhwinder Singh and Sunidhi Chauhan give this fancy rehashed track their best shot.īhangra meets Western acoustics in Chamakti shaam hai, a thoroughly enjoyable, catchy duel of words between Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. and you have the second track of Yaadein. Hariharan’s soulful voice, Anu’s stirring music and Anand Bakshi’s lyrics make this truly memorable.Īnother version of the same song by Sunidhi Chauhan and Mahalaxmi Iyer maintains a melancholic profile.Ī little Satrangi re (Dil Se), a bit of Mehboob mere (Fiza), and generous portions of Jise tu na mila (Refugee). Yaadein yaad aati hai is easily one of the most effective, heartwarming, soothing tracks heard in a long time. It begins rather auspiciously with Sunidhi Chaunhan’s incredible rendition of Alaap.
